Missions

Local

Missions on the local level give "every day" Christians an opportunity to reach out to those in need in the name and power of Jesus Christ. Our church supports a number of established ministries in the Rockford area and we look for new ways to "come along side" them to further the kingdom of God. 

US / World

The Great Commission Jesus gave to His followers is to go into all the world and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). At Temple, we believe every Christian has a responsibility to be a part of God's disciple-making work around the world. Prayer, personal encouragement, and financial support are ways we can partner with others in missions. At Temple we seek to maintain long-term relationships with those He calls out from among us and with missionaries from the Baptist General Conference. 

Outreach

God has given us the charge as His children to reach those who don't know about the Good News of His Son - Jesus Christ. Many of those people are across the world, but just as many are right across the street - in our neighborhood. We at Temple Baptist Church have a great desire to see our neighbors come to know the Lord. We are always looking for new ways in which we can meet the needs of our neighbors. 

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. TBC is a collection center for this unique project of Samaritan's Purse. National Collection week begins November 12-19.
